Dunn North Carolina is the location of a 1907 Revival that renowned Holiness-Pentecostal historian, Dr. Vinson Synan called Azusa East. This revival, run by Dunn resident, Gaston Barnabas Cashwell and held in a three-story tobacco warehouse, was a direct outgrowth of the 1906 Holy Ghost outpouring at Azusa Street Mission in Los Angeles.
On August 27, 2010, a NC Highway marker located at the intersection of Cumberland Street and Wilson Avenue was dedicated, identifying Dunn as the location of the 1907 Revival by GB Cashwell, Apostle of Pentecost to the South. A site marker at 408 S. Wilson Avenue marks the location of the 1907 revival.
